Dadafon’s fifth album, Lost Love Chords, was recorded in Nidaros Studio in Trondheim, Norway, and marks the band's first collaboration with an outside producer: Locomotives/ Amundsen singer Hans Jørgen Støp. A collection of eleven beautiful, evocative love songs that are intensely melodic, melancholy songs, seductively delivered by singer Kristin Asbjørnsen see a band reaching a new level of artistic maturty. The album's low-key intensity nevertheless maintains the energy, strong grooves and inventive arrangements that have become trademarks of Dadafon’s highly acclaimed sound.

Vocalist Kristin Asbjørnsen is still principal songwriter, although throughout Lost Love Chords the rest of the band members contribute more directly than before. Writing and arranging much of the music in their band's studio space, they’ve retained the vital relaxed, playful energy that have at their most creative, recording much of material live the studio.

Through her score for Norwegian director Bent Hamer's latest film, Factotum, Kristin became familiar with iconic American poet Charles Bukowski whose hard and troubled life is portrayed in the film, was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and subsequently released across the US and European. Two songs written by Kristin – ‘I Wish To Weep’ and ‘Slow Day’ - are featured in the film.In addition to the poems by Bukowski, Norwegian poets Anne Bøe and Tale Næss, Ragnhild Lund Ansnes and Kristin Asbjørnsen have all contributed lyrics for the album.

Dadafon garnered rave reviews for their previous albums Harbour (2004) and Visitor (2002), and for their live performances. Visitor won them a Norwegian Alarm award as well as a Spellemann nomination (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy award). In addition to frequent gigs in Norway, the band has recently appeared at festivals in Italy, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands.
